Tips for using walkie-talkie battery--------for better battery performance

Motorola's original rechargeable battery is carefully designed and manufactured by Motorola's engineers to provide the best performance for your Motorola walkie-talkie.

The following simple maintenance guide can help you avoid using the wrong method to recharge the battery, while enhancing the performance of the battery and prolonging its service life.

Tip 1.

Charge the new battery overnight before using it. This method is called "initialization" to ensure that the battery reaches its maximum capacity.

Nickel Cadmium or Nickel Metal Hydride: 14-16 hours for the first charge.

Lithium ion battery and lithium polymer battery (Lithium lon/Polymer): When the indicator light turns green at the first charge, charge it for another 12 hours.

Tip 2.

For new batteries that have not been initialized, please store them in a ventilated, dry, and cool place. This can avoid the reduction of power storage and the number of recharges possible. Do not store more than the following maximum time:
Nickel Cadmium battery: up to 24 months

Nickel Metal Hydride battery: up to 18 months

Lithium lon/Polymer battery: up to 18 months

Tip 3.

When storing the used battery, discharge it by 50% first and store it in a cool, dry place. This reminder applies when you need to stop using the battery for less than 30 days.

Tip 4.

Every time you use a battery that has been stopped for more than 2 months, you must first fully discharge and then fully charge it.

Nickel Cadmium or Nickel Metal Hydride battery: charge for 14-16 hours

Lithium lon/Polymer battery: green after charging for 1-2 hours

Tip 5.

Every time you use the Motorola Quick Charger, please charge for another 1-2 hours after the power indicator turns green.

Tip 6.

After each normal charge is completed, please remove the battery from the charger. Continued overcharging will shorten the life of the battery. Therefore, please do not use the charger as the base of the walkie-talkie.

Tip 7.

Only charge the battery when it needs to be charged. Do not charge an incompletely discharged battery. When you plan to use the walkie-talkie for a long time, carry a spare battery. This is the most effective solution for users who need to use the intercom for a long time.

Tip 8.

Do not put a fully charged battery into the charger "extra refill", this will seriously damage the life of the battery.

Tip 9.

Before charging, stabilize the battery at room temperature about 22°C. Charging below 4°C or above 40°C will reduce battery life.

Tip 10.

When charging a new Motorola IMPRES series battery, you must wait for the measurement process to complete before removing it from the charger. Motorola IMPRES series chargers show that the measurement is in progress through the yellow charging status indicator light. The battery can only be removed when the indicator light turns green.
